Ramona and Beezus by Beverly Cleary


These books are my favorite books ever they are absolutely hysterical I love these books and own the whole series twice. I think these are great books for all ages they are completely appropriate and are just so fun. They did make a movie based on the books and definetely do not like the moveie at ALL they completely changed and made it all boyfriend - girlfriend which I don't exactly get into. I really like these books and they are great for all ages.  P.S. The top picture is the cover of the movie.

Double Dutch by Sharon M. Draper

Double Dutch is a good , clean book about a girl who has a big secret she can't  read. I really liked this book it wasn't that great but I did like it alot and would read it again. A good read for ages 10+

The Lucy Series by Nancy Rue

The Lucy Series by Nancy Rue are fun series about a ten year old tomboy living alone with her blind father now that her mother has died. She just can't stand her pesky aunt and loves to play soccer with the boy next door. (No Romance =) I liked this series alot and highly recommend this series for 9+

The Sophie Series by Nancy Rue


I really liked this series and still occasionally read them these books are about an eleven year old girl who is just starting middle school and has a bad habit of day dreaming to much. The Sophie series is by the same author of the Lily and Lucy series ( also reviewed on this blog) . I highly recommend these books for 8+.

Maggie Bean Stays Afloat by Tricia Rayburn

This book is a really good read it is about a girl with a serious chocolate addiction and can't seem to lose weight she thinks she just has way to many embarrassing moments. I liked this book alot along with the other 2 that come afterwards this is a really good read for ages 10+.

Oggie Cooder by Sarah Weeks

Oggie Cooder is a funny series about a boy who is a bit of an oddball and trys to fit in. This is a really funny book that I really enjoyed and have read multiple times they are completely appropriate and a fun read for ages 8+ .  

Katie Kazoo Switcheroo by Nancy Krulik

Katie Kazoo is a large series of books about a 3rd grade girl who mysteriously turns into other people and has crazy adventures these books are funny and cute if you want a quick read these are for you! I definetely enjoyed these and still own the series which I still occasionally read.

Cinderella (As if you didn't already know the story) by Barbara Ensor


This version of Cinderella is completely hysterical and one you really should read. It is the story of Cinderella except with a completely new twist so funny. I really liked this one and the other one  in the series Thumbelina. 

Waiting for Normal by Leslie Conner

Waiting for Normal is an overall okay book but definitely not my favorite.  The book is about a girl who lives with her now single mother who is a little to lazy and a little too carefree and can't seem to get a job.  If  you really like books that are a little different but not inappropriate this is a good book.

Umbrella Summer by Lisa Graff

Umbrella Summer is a story a about a 10 year old girl who who is simply brokenhearted over the death of her brother and decides that she must make sure nobody else dies or gets sick so she goes to an extreme level trying to be safe.  This a really good book and is perfect for ages 8+

The Bobbsey Twins by Laura Lee Hope

The Bobbsey Twins are great mystery series that have like, 55 books in the whole series I think. I like them because they are really good mysteries and once you start reading them you can't stop. They are about 2 sets of twins that are brothers and sisters and always like to solve a fun mystery.  These are fun books for all ages.   

Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

Number the Stars takes place during the Holocaust and is about a young girl growing up in the Holocaust with a Jewish friend that she is deteramind to hide and protect.I enjoyed this book and it is a good book if like history and adventure.

Here's Lily! by Nancy Rue

Here's Lily is the 1st book in series of 12 thease are great books about an 11 year old girl learning about life and having fun thease are Christian books and and some of my favorites great for girls 9+  

Left Behind the Kids by Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye

Left Behind is is a 30 book series and I have recently completed the 1st and 2nd books and look forward to reading the rest . The series is about 4 kids that are left behind after the rapture occurs and there families go to heaven now all they have left is each other will they find the truth? Is there still hope?

Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry by Mildred D. Taylor

Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry is about all the real hardships African - Americans really had to face even after slavery it is a great book and the rest of the series is just as good I highly recommend this one. For ages 10+

The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom

The Hiding Place is a true story of the trials that all people not just Jews faced during the Holocaust the bravery and kindness that some people had during that time is truly amazing this one is really one you just can't miss. One of my favorites and a must read.  

The Whipping Boy by Sid Fleischman

The Whipping Boy is the Wild story of a pesky prince and his timid whipping boy who is always dragged on adventures with the prince. I have read it 4 times and it never gets old it so funny. It is a great quick easy read for 8+ .

Moxie Maxwell does not Love Stuart Little

Moxie Maxwell does not Love Stuart Little by Peggy Gifford is the hilarious story of a 10 year old girl who is convinced that she must have the worst homework assignment on the planet and is determind to get out . This is a great story for all ages and definete must read for younger readers.
